Choice Hotels Corporate Rates

What are Choice Hotels Corporate Rates?

Corporate travelers can often benefit from cheaper stays with select hotel brands and this includes Choice Hotels. Corporate discounts work by negotiating a discount – if a company has a large footprint in the area of the hotel the discount is likely bigger. The reverse is also true.

If you travel for business, it’s possible to get a lower rate by booking your Choice Hotels stay in advance online using a particular code. Depending on hotel availability, your negotiated rate may not be available on the requested dates and not all corporate codes work with all properties.

Corporate rates are usually stated as strictly only for corporate use by employees, so they are to be used at your own risk, especially as you may need relevant ID when checking in. When booking with a corporate code on this site, you need to confirm that you have relevant ID:

How do I use Choice Hotels Corporate Rates?

You can easily add the code to your online reservation from the homepage; click on the box that says ‘Special Rate’ then click on ‘Special Rate/Corp ID’ and enter your code in the box:

There seems to be very few codes listed online (and surprisingly, we couldn’t find codes for any major businesses), so your best bet may be asking your own company which code you should use.

For our tests, we chose the Comfort Inn & Suites Las Vegas Nellis on May 24th, 2017. It comes out at $129 plus taxes and fees for the (flexible) Best Available Rate and $123 for the Choice Privileges member rate:

Most of the codes we tried for our test booking worked to give us a discount off the member rate:

  • 00075602 Century 21 $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 00224580 York University Alumni Office $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 00213510 Georgia High School Association $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 0928505 University of Miami $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 00076514 Harvard University $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 00064524 Yale University $103 – save 16% ($20)
  • 00167920 NEC $110 – save 11% ($13)
  • 00299010 Business Advantage Plus $110 – save 11% ($13)
  • 211120 Youth Sports $116 – save 6% ($7)
  • 00058268 ASCAP $116 – save 6% ($7)

However, the corporate rate was not available for our test booking with these codes:

What else do I need to know about Choice Hotels Corporate Rates?

It’s always useful to compare the corporate rate you’re using with other rates on the Choice Hotels website, so you can see exactly how much of a discount you’re getting. In this instance, the majority of the codes we tried gave employees 16% off the member rate, although you may well get a much better saving when searching other dates or properties.

We found very few codes available online and couldn’t find a definitive list anywhere, so you may need to find one for your company with a Google search. If your business isn’t listed on any of the sites that you check, you could ask HR if there is a corporate code that you can use or contact Choice Hotels.

Keep in mind that many hotel brands are extremely vigilant about codes being abused and if you try to check in without proof that you are entitled to use a corporate code, you could lose your place to stay or end up having to pay the rack rate instead!
