Review: Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge - Business Class Lounge Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

For flights within Asia, Malaysia Airlines has a separate lounge at KL Airport which I didn't previously utilize on my last trip to London using the A380.

After a grumpy check-in with no greetings or small talk I went through security to the award-winning second floor lounge. It isn't far to walk to, so you don't have to take the airport train.

The lounge design is beautiful and the view towards the runway is pretty nice. There is a full bar available, providing champagne as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. However, I visited the lounge at 7 AM so I was more interested in the breakfast offerings. I wasn't blown away by the food on offer, to be honest, but if you're really hungry I'd recommend that you at least try it :) The ice cream, like most Malaysian desserts, looked absolutely delicious. If only it'd been later in the day...

There are showers in the lounge that are free of charge - a welcome addition and very refreshing.

There is also a spa which offers massages as well as numerous other short treatments. The massages are priced from $20 for 20 minutes.

The WiFi was slow, unfortunately - around 1Mbit - but it was usable. I expected better tech in a business class airport lounge.

To me, this lounge seems to resemble a United Club - though with slower internet and better food and drink.
