What’s the scoop with ridesharing companies?
Chicago is another US city to approve rideshare services like Uber and Lyft to fully operate alongside taxis for pickups as well as drop-offs at O’Hare and Midway airports, in addition to other locations. We recently let you know LAX pickups were approved and now this week the battle in Chicago ended with a triumph for ridesharing services, too.
From next year, Uber, Lyft and Sidecar drivers will be able to pick up riders from several city locations including:
- O’Hare International Airport
- Midway International Airport
- McCormick Place Convention Center
- Navy Pier
Tell me a little more about the ridesharing companies Uber and Lyft…
With Uber, you can hail a taxi, private car or rideshare from your mobile phone, using an app. This on-demand service is available in hundreds of cities across 63 countries, from London to LA to Dubai.
Lyft is similar to Uber and has its own app where you can request a ride. You can track how far away the driver is and pay with your phone – it’s so simple and convenient.
