What's the scoop withStarHOT rates and StarFRND rates?


With StarHOT or StarFRNDdiscounted rates, you can save yourself dollars on your Starwood hotel stays. Right now, certain participating properties startfrom just $49 per room per night.

Both of these special rates are benefits for Starwood employees, to either use themselves or for their friends or family to utilize.

We take a look at both rates and compare prices with booking directly on the Starwood site.

StarHOT rates arediscounted rooms at participating Starwood hotels for Starwoodemployees and employees ofStarwood franchise hotels and their immediate family members.



StarFRND rates are discounted rooms at participating hotels for friends and family members who are not eligible for StarHOT rates - so non-immediate family members are included here.

All regular full and part-time employees areeligible for StarHOT and StarFRND rates when they start their employment andwhile actively employed with Starwood, with both rates intended for leisuretravel bookings only. It's important to note that when you check-in, whether you're an employee or a friend or family member, you'll need to show yourStarHOT or StarFRND Reservation Authorization Form.

How much can Isave with StarHOT rates and StarFRND rates?


We checked out the StarHOT rate, the StarFRND rate and the usual rate for a one-night stay in Bostonon August 3rd, 2015, for 2 people.

The Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Centershows a $69 HOT rate for a Traditional room for these booking parameters. Including taxes and fees, the StarHOT rate is $77:



The Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center is a charming SPG Category 3hotel, located just 18 miles from downtown Boston. It features indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and a Sheraton Club Lounge.

For the same booking, the StarFRND rate comes up at $85 instead, which is $95 including taxes and fees:

Booking on the Starwood site, the lowest prepaidrate for the same booking at this hotel is priced at $209, which is $233 including taxes and fees or $219 for the flexible rate, which is $245 including taxes and fees. Both of these are a huge increase onthe StarHOT or StarFRND rates!

So you can see that if you are a Starwood employee, or if you're a family member or friend of one, it really does pay to check the discountedrates you may be entitled to before booking.
