With a spike in COVID-19 cases in most European countries, Greece introduced new entry requirements in hopes of stopping the rise in numbers. Being one of the most popular summer destinations, Greece opened up for arrivals from most European countries with a requirement of filling out an electronic form minimum a day before departure. The Greek government also announced a 3-week nationwide lockdown. With new safety measures in place, all non-essential businesses will be closed.

Starting November 11, 2020, all people traveling to Greece from foreign countries will be required to have a negative molecular test result (PCR) for COVID-19, taken no more than 72 hours prior to their entry to Greece. This new rule applies to both air and land arrivals to Greece. Only those that test negative will be allowed entry to the country. Passengers will still have to fill out the Passenger Locator Form or PLF before entering the country, which you can find here. Passengers who do not complete the PLF form will be denied access to the country.

More Lockdowns Across Europe

Countries across Europe are suffering from another wave of COVID-19, with more and more cases being confirmed every day. On November 5, 2020, a nationwide lockdown was imposed in England. All non-essential businesses like shops, pubs, and restaurants are closed with the exception of delivery and take-out. For now, these measures will stay in place for at least a month and longer if the cases continue rising.

The Spanish government announced a new state of emergency on October 25, 2020. A nationwide curfew was introduced and people have to stay indoors between 23h and 06h.

On Friday, October 30, 2020, France went into the second nationwide lockdown. People are allowed to leave their homes only to go to work, to buy essential goods, or seek medical help. Also, everyone leaving their home has to have a written statement as to why. The French government announced that the lockdown will be imposed until at least December 1, 2020.

It is likely we will see more countries all across Europe introduce stricter restrictions in the following weeks.
