In order to drive up interest in travel again, some of the biggest airlines and hotel chains have been putting out interesting promotions and sales for their customers. Major airlines have also introduced some changes to their loyalty programs making it easier for passengers to earn and retain their elite status. Delta just announced some positive updates for their loyalty members!

Delta Airlines announced some very positive changes for Medallion members! SkyMiles Medallion members will now be able to retain their status through January 31, 2023! Also, all Medallion Qualifying Miles or MQMs earned in 2021 will roll over to 2022, and they will count toward the 2023 elite status. All these updates to the SkyMiles program will happen automatically, with no action needed from members.

Delta Announces Positive Updates For Medallion Members

Updates for Medallion members:

-Medallion Status for 2021 will be automatically extended through 2022

-Medallion Qualification Miles will roll over to 2022 to qualify for 2023 Medallion Status

-Members will continue to earn toward their status on award travel through December 31, 2022

-All Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates will be extended for travel through January 31, 2023

-Members who earn status in 2021 will receive additional benefits - starting February 1, 2022, those who earned 2022 status will clear for complimentary upgrades ahead of those at the same tier level whose status was automatically extended. Additionally, Platinum and Diamond Medallion members who have earned their status in 2021 will be able to select choice benefits

-All current Delta 360 Members will be able to retain their status for an additional year, through January 31, 2023. They will also be able to select Diamond choice benefits!

Updates for Delta Amex card Members:

-Delta SkyMiles Gold Card Members who earn a $100 Delta Flight Credit between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, will have the expiration date extended to January 31, 2023

-Platinum and Reserve Card Members that have unused companion certificates as of July 31, 2021, or companion certificates issued between August 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, will have the expiration date extended to book and fly by January 31, 2023

-Reserve Card Members with Delta Sky Club One-Time Guest Passes issued between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, will also have the expiration dates extended to January 31, 2023
