American Airlines and Alaska Airlines Introduce Reciprocal Benefits
Alaska Airlines and American Airlines announced a West Coast-alliance back in February that would make Alaska Airlines a part of the oneworld alliance by the summer of 2021. Alaska Airlines announced that the carrier will officially join oneworld in March 2021. Both American Airlines and Alaska have announced information on reciprocal elite benefits that will start in 2021. Now, Qatar Airways announced the official launch of the partnership with Alaska Airlines that will start much sooner. Qatar Airways also announced the launch of weekly flights between Seattle and Doha.
Alaska Airlines and Qatar Airways Partnership
In July oneworld alliance finally made an official announcement that Alaska Airlines was in the process of joining the alliance, but no official date was given at the time. Alaska Airlines has now announced that the airline will join the alliance on March 31, 2021. This will make Alaska Airlines the alliance's 14th airline. Alaska Airlines already codeshares with members of the oneworld alliance like American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and more. The joining of Alaska Airlines will add 34 new destinations to the oneworld network, across North America. Starting December 15, 2020, Alaska Airlines and Qatar Airways will launch a partnership.

First, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and Qatar Airways Privilege are launching miles earnings on each other’s flights from December 15, 2020. However, redemptions will available when Alaska becomes an official member of oneworld.

Qatar Airways Launching Flights from Doha to Seattle
Starting March 15, 2021, Qatar Airways will be launching four flights per week from Doha to Seattle. The new Doha-Seattle flight will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. With the addition of this new flight, Qatar will operate 59 weekly flights to 11 US destinations. Also, this will be the seventh new US destination that Qatar added since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic!
