Hainan looking for partners (can you apply?), flybe isn’t so fly, Hyatt comes to Addis Abeba and Air China cools on Australia
– Hainan Airlines is considering joining an alliance and has those documents leaked quietly – but at this point who would take them?
– another airline
goes bust has been taken over – this time it is flyBe – it is certainly not a good time to start/ run an airline in 2018/2019
– the Hyatt Regency Addis Abeba is now open
However no bookings can be made via the Hyatt website yet. Meskel Square isn’t my favorite neighborhood but Addis is a rather safe place (and a very interesting one too).
– Air China is dropping their Shanghai to Sydney service
Airfares between China and Australia have been dropping like flies lately and even Hainan now sells $270 Round Trip tickets from Australia to China (and similar prices the other way around).
Maybe the first major wave of Chinese outbound travelers to Australia is over?
