Air France Flying Blue First Class bookable (and more changes to awards), under $2,000 Business Class to Asia, 20,000 American Express Membership Rewards points for $1,000 in flights

– Air France/KLM Flying Blue has changed their award booking prices (there was no award chart before either) – biggest surprise Air France First Class seems now bookable by any Flying Blue member (elite status was required before)

Airports with low fuel surcharges such as Hong Kong and Sao Paulo come out at 320,000 miles one-way.

This may be an IT issue or it may last – Air France has been vigorous in cancelling tickets booked in First Class the last 12 months.

Flying Blue also now charges 23,500 miles in Economy Class one-way from Taipei/ Hong Kong to Indonesia. Until yesterday this was 10,000 miles only and one of the best sweet spots of the program. Aegean Miles & Bonus And Singapore Airlines Krisflyer charge 12,500/15,000 in Economy one-way and are a useful replacement.

– excellent fares from New York to Bali, Indonesia in Korean Air Business Class for $1,883 Round Trip (HT Flyertalk)

The price seems to only work from New York and there only a few mid-week departures. It’s not yet clear what fare class it really books into but if it is C it will be almost 50,000 Alaska miles!

– American Express has targeted many readers (me included) for 20,000 Membership Rewards when purchasing $1,000 in flights from KLM and Air France (each separately) for flights departing the USA

This offer used to be 10,000 points typically – great to see them got even better.
