Singapore Airlines brings back direct Singapore to Newark (don’t book it!), BA 50% off award sale, new Radisson Blu Phu Quoc
– Singapore Airlines is bringing back the non-stop service between Singapore and Newark on a new A350 ULR (Ultra Long Range)
The Singapore to Newark flight is just of range for most aircraft right now and the airline will just have 170 passengers on board. Talk about long and thin!
I found the Business Class seats in the A350 to be horrific and could not get comfortable at all (unlike most Singapore Airlines seats). I can just pray they will not torture more guests on this new flight.
– Vietnam is in the midst of a big resort boom for mostly Korean and Chinese guests – now the Marriott Phu Quoc has gotten major competition with the newly opened Radisson Phu Quoc
– British Airways Executive Club has a new reward sale that drops many routes to just about half their usual Avios needed when redeeming on British Airways (not partners)
The fuel surcharges with British Airways are extreme – often exceeding the price of discounted revenue tickets – however when you select routes with no or minimal fuel surcharges this becomes a good deal. Hong Kong, Brazil and several Asian cities are a good hunting ground for minimal fuel surcharges.
