– Iberia has an additional 25% discount for using miles to Madrid on their metal
Since my last LEVEL (Review) flight I can’t say I’m a fan of Iberia anymore but these Business Class deals from most East Coast and Central US destinations are great and come with low fuel surcharges.
For some reason the San Francisco flight has huge fuel surcharges (and much higher Avios) requirements.
– Ethiopian Airlines is coming to Chicago and is offering Double miles if you credit their own ShebaMiles program
– Hawaiian Airlines has decided to order 20 Boeing 787 – a major breakthrough for Boeing as Hawaiian has been a committed Airbus customer for some time
Hawaiian Airlines announced March 6 it intends to purchase 10 Boeing 787-9s with options for 10 additional aircraft, a deal valued at $5.4 billion at current list prices if all purchase rights are exercised. Hawaiian selected General Electric GEnx engines for the new aircraft; deliveries will begin the first quarter of 2021.
Hawaiian said its selection of the 787-9 came after a competitive bid process that also included the Airbus A330-900.
I can’t believe Airbus is still pitching the A330-900. The market clearly wants the lighter, more passenger friendly A350/B787 and not a relaunched A330 or the A380 (which always looks better on paper).
