Chase Hyatt Credit Card

What’s the deal with the Chase Hyatt Credit Card?

New cardmembers can earn a whopping 40,000 bonus points, worth up to 8 nights at Hyatt properties, when you spend just $2,000 on purchases in the first three months. Not only that, but when you add an authorized user, you’ll get another 5,000 points, and you’ll also get another 5,000 points on your cardmember anniversary!

Free nights start at only 5,000 points each, so you could use the 40,000-points sign-up bonus for up to 8 nights at Category 1 properties, or you can choose to spend more of your points for shorter stays at higher Category hotels.

With this card, you earn:

  • 3 points per dollar spent at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts
  • 2 points per dollar spent at restaurants, car rental agencies and on airline tickets purchased directly from the airline
  • 1 point per dollar spent elsewhere

There are no foreign transaction fees to pay and you get travel and purchase coverage as standard. You’ll get automatic Discoverist status with this card, meaning you earn 10% bonus points when choosing to earn points on any eligible spend at Hyatt, and you benefit from premium in-room Internet and late check-out where available. If you spend more than $50,000 or more on purchases in a calendar year, you’ll then instead receive Explorist status through the following calendar year and will earn 20% bonus points when choosing to earn points on any eligible spend at Hyatt, and you’ll benefit from four Club lounge access awards annually and more.

The annual fee for this card is $75 (not waived).

What else do I need to know about the Chase Hyatt Credit Card deal?

This product is available if you do not already have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months.

However this card is not covered by Chase’ 5/24 policy which restricts approvals if you had more than five Chase cards in the last 24 months. Even if you had five (or more) you will get approved as long as you credit is good enough.

You can use the Anniversary Free Night Award within 12 months from card issuance for one night in any available standard room, at any Hyatt hotel or resort designated as Category 1 through 4 under the World of Hyatt program, except at Miraval, Hyatt Zilara or Hyatt Ziva resorts.

Allow 6 to 8 weeks for your bonus points to post to your World of Hyatt account once you’ve qualified.
