What’s the deal with the Comenity Capital Bank Cost Plus World Market MasterCard?

The Cost Plus World Market MasterCard credit card was, until last year, issued by Synchrony Bank. This year, however, Comenity is the new card issuer and you can now earn up to 5% back in rewards when you shop with your card.

New cardmembers can earn:

  • 5% back in Rewards Certificates for every dollar spent at Cost Plus World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY, Christmas Tree Shops andThat! and Harmon Face Values
  • 2% back in Rewards Certificates for every dollar spent on groceries and gas
  • 1% back in Rewards Certificates for every dollar spent elsewhere

As an introductory offer, there’s no interest charged on purchases at these stores if you pay your balance in full within 6 or 12 months.

Once you’ve earned enough, Reward Certificates are issued in $10 increments with your billing statement. You can then spend the rewards in-store at Cost Plus World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY, Christmas Tree Shops andThat! or Harmon Face Value. If you prefer, you can spend them online at:

Strangely enough though, you can’t spend the Rewards Certificates online with Harmon Face Values.

You can also earn sign-up bonus rewards with the Cost Plus World Market MasterCard when shopping outside of these stores and spending either $1,000 or $6,000 total within 6 months:
