Central America isn’t a hotbed of entrepreneurship – so unsurprisingly low cost airlines haven’t been on the agenda in Central America so far.
But do not despair Veca Airlines has started in 2014 with that exact mission – to bring affordable flying to the region. So far the company only has two jets rotating through the region – but given the short distances this is better than nothing.
Here’s a trip report that a busy Flyertalker recently added.
Veca Airlines replaces dangerous bus travel (the region is plagued by dangerous traffic and sky high crime). This also helps tourists a lot as the low fares make a visit to the region more affordable. Air Asia has done wonders to smaller cities outside of Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok in Asia!
