– Delta is on a buying spree and apparently eyeing 49% of Avianca and the same stake in Aeromexico – all those high domestic fares of the last few years are now translating into investments?

– Remitly (frankly I never heard of them) is offering $40 in Amazon gift card for $50 transferred to India – what an interesting promotion! (Thanks DoC)

– BarclayCard is still has the 50,000 Miles & More credit card until early October – while these offers come and go it is the best offer for this card

– Air Berlin has launched another round of super low mileage topBonus award tickets – they are as low as 1,500 miles – the only trouble is that the program charges huge fees when redeeming on Air Berlin coded flights (unlike American Advantage or British Airways Executive Club)

– Lufthansa, Air Berlin and Etihad are working on a major deal that would bring 40 Air Berlin loss making planes as a wet lease into the Eurowings arm of Lufthansa – once done the codeshare with arch rival Etihad will be set up so it can continue to feed Etihad flights – never saw that coming!

– British Airways Executive Club is running another 35% bonus promotion when buying Avios
