American Express has moved their Centurion Lounge at Mexico City Airport to a position inside security – near gate 18.
The American Express Centurion Lounge in Mexico City (Review) was located outside security before and wasn’t anything to write home about.
I was a bit excited – I admit – to see the new lounge but the verdict is simple – it really just moved around….
The same old sofas and furniture and the mediocre drinks offering (those are complimentary). There is table service but any food items are charged for. Again I was visiting during breakfast hours and none of the dishes seemed appealing to me.
I really feel they could have hired a good interior architect – here are some pictures.
The Centurion lounge is small and has no natural light but it is a decent place to sit down and use the rest rooms and grab a soda. It’s a far cry from the excellent US Centurion lounges though and it is usually a better idea to go over to your airline lounge which is near the same gate.
