Cape Town Overview

– British Airways is launching a new service from London Gatwick to Cape Town, a good way to escape to crowded Heathrow airport and find more award availability.

– Turkish Airlines status match now requires a flight activity before it will become active. I did the Turkish Airlines status match last year from my Aegean Airlines Gold status to Turkish Airlines and have to re-qualify this year. If you have not done the status match do it now before it goes away completely.

United MileagePlus

– You can earn up to 15,000 United MileagePlus bonus miles with a stay at one of 7 Ritz-Carlton or Marriott beachfront resorts in Hawaii. You earn 10,000 miles for a four-night stay and 15,000 bonus miles for a five-night stay through December 16, 2016. If you’re thinking of booking a luxurious break in Hawaii anyway, this is a decent unexpected extra.

Chase Sapphire Preferred

– If you’re a Chase Sapphire Preferred cardmember, you can earn 10,000 bonus points for each friend you invite with the Refer-a-Friend promotion – up to 50,000 bonus points in total. Each friend will receive an offer for 50,000 bonus points when they spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. The usual referral bonus is 5,000 points, so double up with this offer and start inviting friends, family and co-workers now!
