According to the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, US citizens and those born in Puerto Rico do not need a US passport book or card to travel anywhere that is considered under US jurisdiction – and that includes Puerto Rico. It’s advisable to at least take a government-issued ID like a driver’s license and possibly your birth certificate when traveling there, however.
