We have written about the amazing 2,500 mile redemption with Jet Airways before.

Jet Airways JetPrvilege is quite an exotic program and partners with American Airlines and United Airlines.

For certain – seemingly random – city pairs the redemption rate is just 2,500 points – for other destinations inside the US it is a flat 15,000 one-way.

NORTH EAST USA & CANADA 1 – Baltimore, Boston,
Chicago Ohare, Detroit, Montreal Trudeau, New York, JFK,
Newark, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington Dulles

SOUTH EAST USA & CARIBBEAN ISLANDS 1 – Atlanta,
Kingston Manley, Memphis, Miami International, Orlando
International and Tampa

SOUTH WEST USA & MEXICO 1 – Dallas Ft. Worth,
Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Diego

NORTH WEST USA & CANADA 1 – Denver, Minneapolis St
Pl, San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver

Flights between those airports are just 2,500 miles one-way in Economy Class and 5,000 in Business Class one-way.

JetPrivilege is now a Starwood Partner Transfer Partner and transfers take about 3-5 business days.

But even if you don’t have Starpoints you can just buy the miles. Each mile costs 1.25 Indian Rupees. For 1,000 miles this translates into $17 or 1.7 cents per mile or $42.51 for the whole 2,500 miles needed for an Economy one-way redemption!

JetAirways adds about $30 in taxes and fees for a typical domestic United flight and under $10 for a flight on American.

How to book JetAirways a partner redemption?

1) Look up availability

Availability for JetAirways matches what you see on ba.com for American and the ANA tool for United. Do not use united.com only as the availability there does not match 100%.

2) Send in the form

JetAirways does NOT process partner redemption via phone or online. You have to send in the filled out Partner Redemption Request Form.

They require passport copy as well.

It’s a bit of a hassle but so far so good.

3) Be very, very, very patient

While initially the JP Redemption Team replied always within 24 hours (they promise to reply within 72 hours) – they have stopped to reply within a week at some point.

JetAirways only accepts bookings 14 days before departure – which is probably wise but you should plan more like 2-3 months before your booking.

The email conversation will be silly with lots of lost emails, the team not able to open your documents or look for the wrong flights. And you will have to wait 3-5 days between each email exchange.

By now I managed to get a hold of the Partner Airline Team. Call the JetAirways JetPrivilege Service Center at +1 877 835 9538 and ask for the ‘Partner Airline Team’.

They can look up availability and taxes. They will need to send you an email – which you need to reply to in order to confirm the itinerary and charges. You can do that while holding the call. Once confirmed they will connect you to the payment gateway for your credit card payment.

Once your payment is approved your ticket will issue usually right away.
