How I became a Skyteam Elite member with an Alitalia Status Match MilleMiglia

Alitalia Status Match

Alitalia is still running a Alitalia status match with non-Skyteam Elite members to the MilleMiglia program.

Getting a status match is very easy. Send an email to [email protected] by December 31, 2015 with the following:

First name and last name
MilleMiglia code
A legible copy of your existing valid Frequent Flyer program card

Your status will be effective 8 working days after you send the request email and will be maintained until March 31, 2016. To confirm that your status has been recognized, you will receive a personalized email from your new Club.

I applied for the status match by sending in my Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles Elite card to the email address given. After 3 weeks my account showed updated to Freccia Alata Club.

The Freccia Alata Club status gives a handful of benefits but most helpful for me are:

– Priority Check-In with all Skyteam carriers
– Lounge access on all Domestic and International itineraries
– 4 upgrade vouchers from Economy to Economy Plus / Business

In order to use the voucher the booking class must be Y, B, M and H which tends to be at least $200 more expensive than the cheapest booking classes (X).
