The AC brand has hotels all over Spain’s medium sized cities. The brand specializes in a boutique experience with a modern touch. Think of a cheaper W hotel but more luxurious than Aloft hotels.
The AC Hotel Seville is located in a quiet residential neighborhood which is about 2.5 miles outside the city center. The good news is that it is easy to park your car in the quiet neighborhood. The Spanish old towns are usually barely drive-able and parking is a nightmare.
Check-In was friendly and in fluent English. I was upgraded to a Full Suite before arrival as a lowly Silver Marriott! That’s a rare occasion.
The suite had a living room and large bedroom. There were two bathrooms in each room. The little golf ball you can see in the pictures was the soap.
The WiFi clocked in at pretty fast 8 Mbit and worked almost the entire time. I did have the impression that the hotel was pretty empty despite its low rate of EUR 49 per night. Southern Spain has a very pronounced off/on season cycle and in July/ August the city empties and literally everyone is headed for the beaches (though the heat waves happened in June and early July this year).
The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building – only the facade has been kept – the building is pretty new.
I did not eat breakfast and did not really have much of an interaction with the staff. From what I could observe they were very friendly and professional.
In conclusion this was a perfect deal – the low rate, the high quality hotel and the location that was perfect for exploring Seville by car. I’d love to come back!
