Tell me more about Puerto Rico beaches…
Puerto Rico is awash with stunning Caribbean beaches. San Juan is famous for its beach scene and can get pretty crowded at the weekend, but you can find quieter places if that’s your scene. For swimming in calm, blue waters, Pine Grove Beach at the end of Isla Verde is a firm favorite.
Elsewhere in Puerto Rico, you can try the stretch of beach between Cabo Rojo and Ponce to find a secret cove of white sandy beach and still waters all to yourself.
If you want to try somewhere really special, head to Flamenco Beach, which was named by the Discovery Channel as the second best beach in the whole world. You’ll find it on the small island of Culebra, 17 miles from the mainland.
