What’s the deal with Hyatt discount codes?

You don’t need to use a discount code to get Hyatt’s latest points purchase promotion, but you do need to be an elite member of Hyatt Gold Passport. Read on to see how you can get a 40% bonus when you buy Hyatt points on the Points.com website through July 31st, 2015.

Wait… How do I get Hyatt discount codes?

A simple Google search will bring up results of various coupon sites that offer promotions including ‘Up to 20% off the Hyatt Daily Rate‘, ‘Save 10% on Hyatt hotels and Hyatt resorts‘ and ‘Up To 10% Off Daily Rate For Seniors 62+‘.

Most, if not all, current discounts found this way are not actually codes, but instead link directly to Hyatt’s special offer page. I have yet to find a discount code that isn’t a corporate rate to only be used by specific individuals.

Tell me about the Hyatt 40% bonus points deal…

Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond and Platinum members have been targeted by email with a limited-time offer to get a bonus 40% when buying Hyatt points on Points.com. We wrote about a similar Hyatt offer in May this year.

You need to purchase a minimum of 1,000 points (at a cost of $24) to earn the 40% bonus and you can buy a maximum of 55,000 points per Hyatt Gold Passport account (at a cost of $1,320).

A 40% bonus on purchased points is the highest amount we’ve seen with Hyatt (occasionally it’s a 20% or 30% bonus instead), but it can often make little sense to buy points just because there’s an available promotion. However, if you do have a specific use in mind or need a points boost, then it may well be worth it.

The best thing about this current promotion is that it can be stacked with the recent 20% rebate for Hyatt credit cardmembers promo. If you already registered for this promotion before the deadline of March 31st, then you can use it in conjunction with the new 40% bonus offer.

How do I get the Hyatt 40% bonus points deal?

Check your emails to see if you’ve been targeted. You can also log in here with your first and last names and your Hyatt Gold Passport number to see if you’re eligible for the promotion. The 40% bonus offer (and the 20% rebate offer, if you’re already eligible) lasts through July 31st, 2015.

What else do I need to know about Hyatt discount codes?

To avoid embarrassment at check-in, always ensure in advance that you’re eligible to use a Hyatt discount code, or use offers directly from Hyatt’s website or targeted emails sent to you.
