It’s not that we see Reno as a departure airport for many airfare deals but yes they exit. American Airlines has loaded cheap fares around ~700 from many small airports in California, Nevada and Texas.

The flights go through Dallas or Los Angeles and via Japan usually.

To get the maximum miles – make sure all your flight numbers are American Airlines when flying from Tokyo as Japan Airlines light numbers may give you less miles.
