A couple of weekends ago, I decided to satisfy my cravings for delicious Indian food and try out Vik’s Chaat in Berkeley, CA.
It is actually an Indian supermarket that also serves delicious Indian food in the large eatery in the back. It is close to the I-80, just after the Bay Bridge (when going from San Francisco).
I really liked the colorful design of the interior and the clean surroundings. It’s rather spacious and airy – not something associated with Indian food usually.
The menu focuses on South Indian specialties like Aloo Tikki, Dahi Batata Puri, Chole Bhature and lots of other delicious chaats.
I liked the items, though I felt something was amiss – not sure if it was lacking chili or other spices, but it did not have ‘the kick’. However, it’s still an awesome place for a quick, delicious and cheap lunch or dinner.
