Get an Emirates First Class seat before it disappears again

Alaska Airlines has once again enabled redemptions on Emirates First Class.

See below how you can spend $2,200 on a first class ticket that would otherwise cost you $14,487.

While some availability that Alaska shows for Emirates First Class might be ‘phantom award space’, there is just so much availability for this great redemption right now.

The best deal is business class (75,000 miles) and first class (100,000 miles) to Africa. You can fly anywhere Emirates goes to in Africa, incl. the Seychelles, Cape Town and Johannesburg, for the same price.

For many US cities, Emirates has upgraded to the A380 with a fantastic new first class – I really enjoyed my Emirates First Class to Los Angeles last November and from the Seychelles in Emirates First Class.

It is not clear how much longer Alaska will be able to offer this redemption with Emirates. Mileage Plan redemptions on Emirates have been unavailable for months now.

How to get so many Alaska miles?

Bank of America issues a credit card that gives you 25,000 miles and you are eligible for the sign-up bonus several times!

You can also transfer from Starwood – each 20,000 Starpoints will become 25,000 Alaska Mileage Plan miles.

Or you can buy miles – Alaska runs a current promotion that gives you 40% bonus miles.

If you buy all the miles, it comes out at $2,200 for a ticket that would usually cost you $14,487!!

Also, keep in mind that Alaska Mileage Plan allows free stopovers (in this case, Dubai) and free cancellation 60 days before travel for any awards.
