So I'm not a big fan of breakfast in general. Most of my mornings are spent with a protein drink or a small pastry and coffee and them I'm fine well into late afternoon.
However, Boogaloos is rated as San Francisco's best breakfast and it has long lines every weekend. I wanted to give this place a try.
Boogaloos is housed in an old pharmacy and was established in 1994 . It's located on Valencia Street, next to several excellent urban eateries.
The menu is Mexican/Southern-inspired cuisine that is heavily based on eggs. I'm not a fan of breakfast eggs and luckily found a fantastic tofu dish. There are also pancakes on the menu for the pancake lovers.
The long lines
On this Saturday morning, the line was just about 15 minutes long – that's not bad – I hope this place isn't falling out of favor?
I loved my scrambled tofu with with avocado and potatoes. The chorizo also gets a rave review.
