70,000 Chase Ink Plus, US Airways Mastercard, American Express Hilton Honors – Rate my mini ’round-of-approvals’

Given that some of the current credit card offers might go away soon, I decided to give a mini 'round-of-approvals' a go. Here's how it went:

1) 70,000 Chase Ink Plus offer

This is an amazing offer and as we noted in our post last week about the Chase Ink Plus 70,000, there is just too much one can do with the high sign-up bonus.

I signed up on Friday and got an 'Application Pending' message. On Monday morning I called the Chase reconsideration number for business cards. The agent was extremely friendly and had a couple of questions about my business which I answered easily. After another 10 minutes on hold, I was approved!!!

Now I'm onto completing the minimum spend – which should be fairly easy with $5,000 in 3 months.

2) US Airways MasterCard

The US Airways MasterCard (usairwaysmastercard.com) has no minimum spend. I did have that card in the past.

I was instantly approved with a $12,000 credit limit. It does not get much easier than that. It was all done in less than 3 minutes. You will have to pay the annual fee of $89 (not waived).

3) 60,000 Hilton HHonors Card from American Express

I've never had this card before (although I did have a Hilton HHonors Surpass card from American Express once) and I wasn't sure what would happen. However, the approval for the credit card was instant. American Express also decided to expedite the card shipment. I applied Friday afternoon and the physical card was in my hands Tuesday morning. Marvelous! There is no annual fee so the sign-up bonus goes right into your pocket.

4) Citi Prestige card

60,000 ThankYou points after $15,000 in spend with an annual fee of $350. This does not sound like much of a deal, but FrequentMiler applied for the card recently and his math and explanation of benefits is compelling. I decided to give it a shot. As he notes, it is a complicated card but with the benefits it has if you sign up before October 19th, it is certainly worth your consideration.

The best offer was only available in a Citibank branch. I had no trouble locating a branch that had the offer there. However it is done by fax (!) and my application is not yet ready for re-consideration.
