United changed its award chart in February 2014. Most international first class redemptions went from very cheap to very expensive using miles especially on partners.
The award chart is still decent for business class travel (esp. South America) and for economy redemptions in Asia, Africa & Europe.

What we like about this card
30,000 United miles is a good sign-up bonus. United miles are very useful on some Star Alliance partners. For instance, 30,000 miles is enough for a round-trip all over Africa in economy.
