Delta and Starwood seem to have some serious marketing ambitions – Delta has now adopted Westin's Heavenly bedding for their business class.
I do think that a good comforter really matters on a flight. It just creates a much more sleep inducing atmosphere than a electricity spitting plastic blanket. Westin has had great success developing bedding products so this is a win-win.
Now all we would need from Delta is them releasing more low-level award space for us mileage junkies.
Btw – didn't everyone say that Delta Skymiles will become a revenue based program in early 2013? It seems either the augurs were wrong or it just takes Delta much longer to make the switch (probably more likely).
