Intercontinental Century City, Los Angeles, CA Review

I spent last night at the Intercontinental Century City, Los Angeles, CA. The hotel is very close to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.

The specific area - Century City - is rather new with lots of new office and hotel developments. There is a Hyatt Regency and also a Westfield mall nearby. However the Intercontinental is a bit older - my guess 20-30 years?

There is no self parking and the valet parking is $38 incl. unlimited in-and-out. It stings but that's L.A. There is no easy way to avoid that fee as parking is scarce in the area.

My check-in was quick and friendly and to my big surprise I heard the words - "...we have upgraded you to a suite...' because of your Platinum status. Technically IHG Platinum benefits do not apply at any Intercontinental (I did not receive free WiFi for instance) but I was quite happy with the hotels decision to upgrade me, of course.

We held our meetup in the lobby which was very well set up for this. It has free WiFi, it's airy and cozy at the same time. The whole lobby seemed to have been recently redone. There are also some outdoor chairs in a small garden behind the main building and just outside.

My corner suite certainly showed it's age but it was in good shape and very clean. The sofa and bed were rather new. The other furniture was in good shape too.

I did not have any of the food or did I did test the gym unfortunately. Rates were around $270 for the time period.

If you have business in that area I think the hotel is a good choice. The staff is very friendly and they honestly try to improve your stay. I wish the hotel had a bit more of a 'soul'. It would be nice if the rooms were remodeled as well.
