Many airlines and hotel brands have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has dramatically reduced travel demand. However, in the last few months, Alaska Airlines already announced several lucrative promotions and benefits for its members. Now, the airline is offering a status match for people who currently have elite status with Delta, United, or Southwest.

Great news! Alaska Airlines just announced a new status match without any challenges! For a limited time only you will be able to match your elite status from Delta, United, or Southwest to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. You can apply for this status match through April 15, 2021. Keep in mind that only members that achieved elite status for 2020 or 2021 through flight miles or segments will be eligible for the status match.

Once you earn your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan elite status you will be able to keep it through December 31, 2021. Additionally, for every Alaska Airlines flight you take during the rest of the year you will earn a 50% bonus elite miles. This is a great offer from Alaska Airlines, and just in time since the airline will be joining oneworld on March 31, 2021. This will make Alaska Airlines the alliance's 14th airline. Alaska Airlines already codeshares with members of the oneworld alliance like American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and more. The joining of Alaska Airlines will add 34 new destinations to the oneworld network, across North America.

Here's how to apply for the status match:

-First, you will need to sign up for Alaska Mileage Plan if you are not a member already

-Next, you will need to complete a form with some basic information and upload a screenshot or PDF of your Delta, Southwest, or United Airlines frequent flyer account

-Alaska Airlines will let you know if your elite status match request has been approved in about 2–4 weeks
