Back in June, Alaska Airlines launched an interesting promotion for Mileage Plan members. The promotion was supposed to end on December 31, 2020. However, Alaska Airlines just announced that the promotion will be extended by six months until June 30, 2021. During the promotional period, members can earn 50% more Elite Qualifying Miles or EQM. Keep in mind that the bonus will only apply to flights operated by Alaska Airlines. No registration is required for this promotion. All active Mileage Plan members will receive a 50% bonus on elite-qualifying miles earned on flights marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines between June 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.

From the official website:
Get on the fast track to elite status. You've probably already heard that the status you're holding at the end of 2020, will be extended through 2021. But we know that some of you are trying to get elite status for the first time, or are trying to get to the next tier — so we're making it easier for you to get there with bonus EQMs on flights through the end of the year.

Because Alaska Airlines is in the process of joining oneworld, earning Mileage Plan elite status can prove to be very beneficial. Mileage Plan has also changed how status is earned in 2021, making it easier to earn.

MVP - 20,000 elite miles or 30 segments, and two segments on Alaska Airlines

MVP Gold - 40,000 elite miles or 60 segments, and four segments on Alaska Airlines

The joining of Alaska Airlines will add 34 new destinations to the oneworld network, across North America.
