Following the news and updates around the COVID-19 pandemic, many airlines and hotels were forced to suspend or reduce their daily operations. We have the latest information from airlines and hotels all around the world. As the pandemic started to slow down, hotels started putting out promotions in order to drive up interest. We saw World of Hyatt extending points expiration, and postpone some award changes. Now, they announced some more good news for all the members of the loyalty program! Hyatt will be lowering status qualification requirements by 50% in 2021. Also, Hyatt announced a global promotion called Bonus Journeys in October which is now extended! Overall, a great time to be a World of Hyatt member.

Inspired by Hyatt’s purpose – we care for people so they can be their best – and in response to the dynamic COVID-19 situation, we would like to share actions Hyatt is taking to care for you during this time, including booking with confidence and travel flexibility and comprehensive steps to implement new guidance, procedures, and practices as we reimagine the hotel experience.Status and benefits have been extended for elite members without having to re-qualify. Also, members will be able to qualify or requalify for elite status with half the Tier-Qualifying Nights or Base Points. What this means is that in order to achieve the Globalist tier, for example, 30 tier-qualifying nights or earning 50,000 base points in 2021 will be required. This will make it easier for all members to earn elite status in 2021!
