Lounge and airport experience provider Priority Pass is to increase its fees for chargeable lounge visits later this year. The Priority Pass lounge fee will go up on October 1, 2019. Some versions of the memberships come with included lounge visits, while others require a fee when used.
Increased Lounge Fee
“On October 1st, 2019 we will be increasing the fee for chargeable lounge visits to $32 per visit per person. Any complimentary visits included as a part of your membership will not be affected by this fee increase. It has been over 11 years since we have increased our visit fees and during this time we have done all we can to absorb the rising costs of providing airport lounge access to our Members. We have unfortunately reached the point where we need to make an adjustment to our prices to maintain the quality offering of Priority Pass.” Priority pass released in an email.
This means the price you pay for a guest over your allowance and the cost per guest in restaurants will be going up.
Fortunately, if your Priority Pass membership comes with complimentary visits then you still won’t pay a fee. You only pay this new Priority Pass increased lounge fee if you have guests over your membership’s allowance.
Here is what they had to say about it:
“The number of complimentary visits included within your membership will not change. However, any visits taken over the complimentary allowance will be charged at the new visit fee from October 1st, 2019.”
Over the last few years, Priority Pass has worked hard on expanding and upgrading its business, so these fees were bound to come. What do you think about the increase in fees?
