Buy AAdvantage miles for 1.81 cents, AMEX Centurion lounge Denver coming, first look into Air Tahiti Nui’s 787 Business Class

– American Airlines AAdvantage is running a Buy Miles promotion that can get you miles for 1.81 cents

Airline Credit Cards

This can make sense if you usually pay cash for Long Haul Business Class tickets and you can replace this with an award ticket (given there is award availability). I used to buy a lot of miles as I was able to get these reimbursed as a travel spend.

– American Express is now planning a new Centurion lounge at Denver airport

As much as I love the Centurion Lounges they strike me as a gigantic waste of money with investments of $10 million to build and easily $10,000 or more for each day to run

Airline Credit Cards

But AMEX sees it as a unique (and exclusive) way to draw people into the high fee Platinum cards – let’s hope it works out!

more information on Air Tahiti Nui’s new 787 configuration that is soon flying to Los Angeles

The airline has decided for a 2-2-2 ‘fully-flat Parallel Diamond seats from Rockwell Collins’ former B/E seating unit’. I just flew a similar seat on the KLM new 777 configuration and Qatar has these seats too on some of their A330. Tahiti isn’t exactly far and for 8 hours these seats will be great.
