I have become a big fan of the Priority Pass lounges these days.
If you travel solo and have elite status (I have only have Star Alliance elite status currently) you will likely have little incentive for Priority Pass but if you travel with family of 2 or three extra passengers you will quickly notice that no elite status allows for more than one guest and half your family will have to stay outside the lounge.
Many Priority Pass lounges have gotten much better over time and added decent food and more drinks options. It also depends in what region you are traveling. Africa and the Middle East/ Europe and India are great for Priority pass while the Americas, Australia and also Asia don’t provide as good options.
Also you can use Priority Pass if you fly discount airlines like Air Asia or Wizz Air.

What’s the cheapest way to get lounge access with Priority Pass? – Get you bank to issue you one
The best way to get your Priority Pass membership is through a bank that often issues unlimited passes that include an unlimited number of guests (they can have different itineraries but need to enter the lounge with you).
The Chase Sapphire Reserve offers this benefit.
The American Express Platinum cards also now offers an unlimited version now (it was limited to just one complimentary guest before).
There are a number more credit cards that include Priority Pass membership but always check how many guests are included in the complimentary usage.
Note that some lounges will not accept Priority passes if they have been issues by a US financial institution (i.e. the United Club at San Francisco International Terminal).
What’s the cheapest way to get lounge access with Priority Pass? – Look for Groupon offers
Groupon frequently has offers available that discount the regular membership.
This is the currently available offer – usually this does not include any guests though.
$7 for $50 Towards Standard Membership
$7 for $63 Towards Standard Membership with 1 Visit Included
$7 for $63 Towards Standard Plus Membership with 10 Visits Included
What’s the cheapest way to get lounge access with Priority Pass? – Use Hotel Points
generally these are really terrible use of points and unless you have no other way to use points (you should not) do not do it.
