What’s the deal when you take out a new Sprint account?

The mobile network operator Sprint is offering new customers an awesome incentive to open an account – and existing customers can get a piece of the action, too! New account holders can earn up to 25,000 AAdvantage® miles when opening a new Sprint account through December 31st, 2017 and existing customers can easily earn up to 5,000 ongoing AAdvantage® miles annually just by linking your accounts.

There’s several other excellent offers currently, too, such as a $400 Visa Prepaid Card if you switch to Sprint and activate 3 or more lines on the Unlimited Freedom Plan, or another offer is a new iPhone 7 32GB when you lease an additional one, but travelers can really benefit from a pile of AAdvantage® miles.

25,000 AAdvantage® miles can get you a free domestic round-trip economy ticket (you’ll just need to pay government fees of $5.60 each way) or you can use the miles towards another redemption. You can check the AAdvantage® flight award chart here, to see what you can get with your bonus miles, such as:

  • A MileSAAver off peak economy round-trip to the Caribbean, Mexico or Central America for 25,000 AAdvantage® miles total
  • An off peak MileSAAver economy one-way flight to Europe for 22,500 AAdvantage® miles total
  • A MileSAAver domestic one-way business class flight for 25,000 AAdvantage® miles total

You could also use your bonus miles towards a first class redemption ticket, especially if you already have miles banked; for instance, 65,000 miles nets you a one-way to Hawaii in or 80,000 miles can get you to Asia Region 1.

Sprint Global Roaming

Travelers these days often want worldwide roaming as part of their mobile service and Sprint provides this automatically for LTE and GSM capable smartphones. You now get free texts and free data up to 2G speeds in 165 featured destinations (more destinations than T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T offer) and calls costs just 20 cents per minute!

However, you also have the option to buy high-speed data passes, where all data is included with speeds up to LTE in more than 50 popular global destinations. Most of these destinations cost just $5 a day or $25 a week and you can opt in to high-speed at any time while traveling.

Additionally, if you’re on Sprint’s Unlimited plan, you already get free high-speed data roaming, calls and texts in both Mexico and Canada.

What else do I need to know about opening a new Sprint account?

The AAdvantage® miles offers cannot be combined with the SDP discount and business accounts are not eligible.
