What’s the deal with the Comenity Virgin America Visa Signature credit cards?
You could earn up to 15,000 bonus Virgin America Elevate points (worth up to $300 in reward flights) with a Virgin America Visa Signature credit card. The Virgin America Premium Visa Signature is offering 15,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days, which is worth up to $300 in blackout-free reward flights. The Virgin America Visa Signature is offering 10,000 bonus points (worth up to $200) when you spend the same amount in 90 days.
We’ve written about these two cards before, as both have a low minimum spend and a sign-up bonus that’s better than it first looks (Elevate points are worth around 2x regular miles).
Both of these cards offer the following benefits:
- Your first checked bag is free (as is your companion’s)
- You get priority boarding on your Virgin America flights
- Each year you get $150 off a companion ticket
- You save 20% on RED in-flight purchases
- Elevate points never expire while you’re a cardholder
- There are no blackout dates or restrictions on reward flights
- You’ll receive exclusive cardholder discounts when shopping online with your card
With either of these cards, you can earn up to 8 points per dollar on your Virgin America purchases and 1 point per dollar spent on everything else.
There’s more reasons to consider adding one of these cards to your wallet…
The Virgin America Premium Visa Signature credit card also gives you an annual bonus of up to 15,000 status points, which count toward reaching or renewing Silver or Gold Elevate status; for every $10,000 of eligible purchases, you earn 5,000 status points, up to a maximum of 15,000 points. This card has an annual fee of $149 (not waived). You also benefit from no change or cancel fees on non-refundable Virgin America flights.
The Virgin America Visa Signature credit card has an annual fee of $49 (not waived), but the benefits shown above are more than worth it.

What else do I need to know about the Virgin America Visa Signature credit card deals?
While both cards are good choices in the world of travel, the Premium card is clearly the better option. The higher annual fee of this card covers the extra bonus points you receive as well as the additional benefits you get, especially the extra status points. Plus the waived cancellation and change fees is always a great perk.
