What are Carlson Friends and Family Rates?
Carlson Hotels offers employees’ friends and family members discounted rates for non-business leisure travel at properties around the world. For the past few years, the special rate code for relatives and friends of employees to get exclusive prices at Carlson properties (including Radisson, Park Inn, Country Inns & Suites and more) has been the same – CARLSONF – which you can easily add to your hotel search. You can book up to three rooms in one booking with the code, but you won’t earn points or miles with your stays.
This rate is stated as only to be used by friends or family members of employees and that the employee’s name and work location will be verified at check-in.
How much can I save with Carlson Friends and Family Rates?
For each of these Carlson brands, the global friends and family rate has been the same since 2010:
We checked Carlson for a one-night stay for two in Bedford, NH, on April 18th, 2017 and the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Manchester Airport came up at an estimated $163.50 including taxes and fees for the flexible non-member Best Available Rate or an estimated $147.15 all-in for the flexible Club Carlson member rate:
However, the Family and Friends Rate came up at $70, as stated in the chart above, totaling an estimated $76.30, which is $70.85 cheaper than the flexible member rate – saving you around 48%!
What else do I need to know about Carlson Friends and Family Rates?
If you’re lucky enough to have a relative or friend who works at one of the Carlson brands then the CARLSONF code can often save you a bundle on your stay. Just don’t forget that you’ll need the employee’s name and place of work when you check in.
While Carlson lets anyone book using the CARLSONF code on clubcarlson.com, it also clearly states that it’s only for use by friends and family members of employees.
As this rate is not eligible to earn Club Carlson points, you should always weigh up the monetary saving with any potential loss before booking.
