If you’re a member of either Budget RapidRez with Fastbreak or the Avis Preferred Program, you should check out the Avis Budget Surcharge Settlement to see if you’re entitled to one or more future discounts or a cash award.
A class settlement was recently proposed with Avis Budget Group, LLC In, with the claim that both rental companies concealed fees and wrongly charged a Frequent Traveler Program Surcharge of typically 75 cents per day to members who received frequent flyer miles from partners. This surcharge was applied to online rental vehicle reservations for both Avis Preferred and Budget RapidRez members who had been invited to accrue frequent flyer miles when booking, but Avis and Budget deny all claims and any wrongdoing.

How can I make a claim against Budget Fastbreak or Avis Preferred?
Submitting a claim form is the only way that you will possibly receive a future discount or cash payment. You can complete the form here online or print it off to mail to the Claims Administrator.

What else do I need to know about the Budget Fastbreak and Avis Preferred class-action lawsuit?
You only have the next three days if you wish to exclude yourself from the settlement or object or comment about the case, as this deadline is April 6th, 2016, but you have until May 5th, 2016 to ask for a hearing. The Final Approval Hearing will be in Newark on May 25th, 2016:
It seems barely worth the effort if you made very few rentals, especially as you can find better discount codes online than the 10% being offered, but if you happened to make a lot of bookings during this time, make sure you submit your claim form by July 5th, 2016. Otherwise, you can choose to do nothing and forfeit your right to sue later.
