What’s the Prepaid.Citi card?

You may already know that you can use your ThankYou Rewards to purchase a Citi gift card, but did you know you can also use your points to get a Citi Prepaid card? While the gift cards are only accepted by particular merchants, you can use a Prepaid card to buy goods and services at any merchants that accept signature-based MasterCard or Visa debit cards (depending of course on which of these your card is).

The Citi Prepaid card is a fast, flexible and convenient electronic payment solution, issued by one of the largest card issuers in the world. It’s a secure option for you to access cash and can often be an easier way to both spend and manage your money. A Prepaid card is a debit card that is loaded with your money in advance, so you can’t spend more than your available card balance.

A Citi Prepaid card expires after 12 months from the issue date – you’ll see this expiration date embossed on the front of your card. You should check all the T&C here before purchasing a card and then once you have one, you can access the Prepaid.Citi site.

So how do I use the Prepaid.Citi website?

With Citi Prepaid Services online, managing your Citi Prepaid card is simple, with easy-to-follow instructions provided along the way. When you register the card, you get extra security, control and features.

On the main page, there’s links to several tasks:

  • If you’re a first time user, you can register your card here. You’ll need the 16 digit number on the front of your card and the security code, which you’ll find on the back of your card at the end on the signature panel.

  • If you’re already registered, you can check view your balance and transactions here by logging in with your card number and security code.

  • If you have a Reward Code, you’ll need to activate it, which you can do here by entering the code and completing the CAPTCHA.

It’s worth knowing that when you access your account online, you may also need to give Citi additional verification as additional proof of your identity, which helps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access.
