AAdvantage currently has the best award chart of the major US frequent flyer programs. Their award prices for Premium cabin flights to Asia and Africa are incredible.
Earlier this years I was convinced a devaluation was imminent – but so far it thankfully hasn’t’ happened.
But there is another gem that I have recently taken advantage of – the incredible 10,000 miles Economy Class intra-Europe AAdvantage award redemption.
Last week I flew a one-way from Mykonos, Greece to Jerez, Spain for just 10,000 AAdvantage miles. The same flight priced out at $500 about 3 months before departure!
AA allows you to fly anywhere in Europe to anywhere in Europe for 10,000 miles. Europe has a good number of Oneworld Airlines:
These are the countries that AA counts as Europe:
The Canary Islands are one of those places I always wanted to see. Moscow to Tenerife would also just cost 10,000 miles.
Tbilisi, Georgia is another great spot I’d love to return to and that’s also just 10,000 miles – this time we start at the Azores which is PDL airport as Philipp points out correctly!
However the most incredible redemption is from the Canary Islands all the way to Irkutsk – a stunning 6,000 miles in Economy for just 10,000 miles!
Keep in mind that when you plan it well you can get a layover of <24 hours in each city. AA recommend to keep each award at 6 segments which will allow you to see A LOT of places in Europe. Happy traveling!
