For my recent layover in Frankfurt (connecting to Istanbul) I was looking for a new lounge to try. I had reviewed the Senator Lounge at Frankfurt Airport (Z gates) before.
Though I was flying Economy my Star Alliance Gold status would allow my complimentary access to the lounge – so it was time for a Maple Leaf Lounge Frankfurt Review.
The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge seems brand new. It has a distinct Canadian design – it does not look like Lufthansa lounge. Air Canada has invested in an interior design that looks clean and stylish.
I was in the lounge for breakfast and lunch and the food options for both services were really diverse and ranged from German pretzels to Mediterranean salads.
The Internet was the same as in the Lufthansa Lounges – it tops out at about 3 Mbit – not horrible but not super fast either.
Since this is Germany the lounge also serves beer and wine free of charge.
The staff was very friendly and I also had enough time to take a shower. The shower rooms reminded my of the Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge in Hong Kong.
