I recently went to the Berkeley Pier for some shots of the sunset with the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop.

I recently went to the Berkeley Pier for some shots of the sunset with the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop.

The Berkeley Pier is an interesting place in its own right - it was the location of the first car ferry between the East Bay and San Francisco before the Bay Bridge was opened. The pier is 3 miles long and about one mile is accessible by the public these days.
