This fantastic museum is located on a hill, just 5 minutes from the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. It's easy to reach by bus or taxi after you are done exploring the Old City of Jerusalem or Jerusalem's Yehuda Market (souq).

Many museums 'lure' you in with a collection of contemporary art and it usually turns out to be just a few works of art in a small sub section of a museum (like at LACMA).

The Israel Museum is built on a hill and its sleek design merges itself into the hill.

The outdoor sculpture garden is fantastic and has a number of art works for your vision and hearing.

The indoor museum is huge and easy to get lost in - there is so much to see, including tons of contemporary art, that it is easy to miss your bus back to Tel Aviv.

The entrance fee is a hefty NIS 54 (~$14), but it's absolutely worth it.
