Connecting at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport is a seemingly scary undertaking even for the most experienced FlyerTalk members. Why is that?
The airport's reputation, after years of crawling renovation and genuine new construction often with a focus on beauty and not efficiency, has left connecting passengers with long walks, odd security controls, bad signage and overwhelmed immigration officers.
However, my recent experience connecting from the Air France long-haul terminal to the European Schengen terminal wasn't bad at all. The walkway was a tad confusing, but walks were short and the security check and immigration were well-organized and efficient. My transfer between the terminals was done in less than 15 minutes. I had budgeted for more than an hour.
