The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego Review

Where is the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego?

The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is downtown, on the waterfront – a spectacular setting for a gorgeous hotel. Overlooking San Diego Bay, the hotel is located at 1 Market Place, San Diego 92101, just 2.8 miles from the National History Museum and 3.1 miles from San Diego Zoo.

Just 3 miles from San Diego International, the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego can be reached by following the signs to Downtown San Diego and Interstate 5, then along North Harbor Drive to Market Place.

What can I find at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego?

This category 5 Hyatt Gold Passport property is Southern California's largest hotel, with 1,6285 rooms. It has two towers, Harbor and Seaport, which are the third and seventh tallest buildings in San Diego.

The hotel boasts two upscale restaurants (Sally's and Lael's), its own salon and a full spa plus outdoor pool. There are tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, a free gym that's open 24 hours and even a fire pit overlooking the bay – perfect for Smores.

Is the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego a recommended hotel?

The hotel has an excellent location near to San Diego attractions. The view from rooms overlooking the bay and the fire pit is stunning and the hotel has some really great amenities that are well-presented and looked after. I recommend the food served in both restaurants and commend the staff on their professional attitudes – from housekeeping to check-in.

The parking fees and internet cost are my only real grumble. Parking costs are pretty steep. $45 valet parking overnight or $30 self-parking overnight becomes very expensive for a week's stay. If required, guest rooms are charged $9.95 per day for internet access, which isn't stated on the website – you find out at the front desk. The fee is waived for Hyatt Diamond and Platinum members.

Save on parking fees and fly to San Diego – the hotel is just a $15 taxi-ride away. Then if your Hyatt Gold Passport points allow, this category 5 is a real treat 🙂
