Review – the Citi ThankYou Premier Card

Citi's ThankYou Premier Card is the ThankYou points flagship credit card product. This card offers a 1.25 cent per mile redemption on all travel related expenses, or a straight 1 cent per mile redemption value on gift cards. I find that this is basically a $625 signup bonus, which is a couple of hundred dollars better than the Barclay World Arrival Card that so many bloggers have been pimping lately, although the $5,000 minimum spend might scare some folks off.





Here are some of the benefits of this card:

- 3 points per $1 on restaurant and entertainment purchases
- 2 points per $1 on airfare and hotels
- 1 point per $1 on all other purchases

Admittedly, I am not the hugest proponent of fixed value points, but I think that a $625 signup bonus, waived $125 fee and 3 points per $1 at restaurants or entertainment is a pretty solid deal. I've redeemed ThankYou points in the past and they're usually quite easy to apply to hotels and flights.

These points are especially good if you have a pretty big chest of miles and hotel points and you're looking to consolidate your stash. ThankYou points are also quite good for hotels that aren't part of big chains like Hyatt or Starwood.
