Marriott is always good for a surprise if you log on to your account and go to Promotion Central.

Marriott Rewards targets each member with specific promotions. In case you don't have an account already you can earn 2,000 Marriott Rewards points with each stay your referral makes.

Now apparently I was targeted for two promotions that seem stackable – the Marriott Welcome Back promotion and the Marriott Megabonus nights.

For my upcoming trip to Asia next month I haven't booked any hotels yet so these promotions come in handy. With 4 stays I should be able to two category 4 and two category 5 free night certificates (assuming both promotions can be 'stacked'). I'll get another category 5 certificate with each 2 stays after that.

Terms and Conditions for the Welcome Back Promotion

Credit toward this promotion is given for stays with Marriott hotels beginning the day after registration through the end of the month plus an additional three (3) months.
Qualifying members will receive up to two Marriott Rewards® e-certificates for a standard room type at a Category 1-4 location valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.
An earned free night award will be added to the member's account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
At Residence Inn® and TownePlace Suites®, e-certificates are for a studio or one bedroom.
A "stay" is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.
The e-certificate cannot be upgraded for use at Category 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 properties. However, you may use additional Marriott Rewards points to upgrade your room type at Category 1-4 locations.
Marriott Rewards e-certificates are valid only in connection with individual travel and are not applicable to group travel, package tours, conventions or other special rates and/or package programs.
A Marriott Rewards e-certificate may be used to pay for the expense of your room and related room taxes only. The e-certificate may not be used to pay for food, beverage, service charges, other taxes or other incidental expenses.
You will not earn Marriott Rewards points for room charges or room tax covered by Marriott Rewards e-certificates.
The Marriott Rewards e-certificate is good for one night, for one room only, and does not count toward Elite level membership.
The Marriott Rewards e-certificate is non-transferable and has no cash value.
Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit.

A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.
Registration is required.
Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by November 15, 2013 will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel after each second paid stay made between September 15, 2013 and January 15, 2014, at a participating Marriott property.
Maximum two (2) free night awards earned with this promotion per member.
The member receiving this offer has been specifically targeted and the offer is not transferable.
An earned free night award can be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties for one (1) free night.
Free night award will expire one (1) year after the date of issuance.
An earned free night award is good for one (1) single or double occupancy standard room only and includes the cost of the hotel room and applicable room taxes only.
An earned free night award will be added to the member's account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
Awards are not transferable and may not be given as a gift.
Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for credit.
Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member's nights or stay.
